“no one can walk backwards into the future”
About 8 years ago, on a whim I booked a session with a palm reader. I had a friend of a friend see Casandra a few times and she spoke really highly of her. I was fall and days were getting shorter and colder, but I was planning on shifting my business and to be honest I wanted to hear what might come up during my reading?!
I have always been fascinated by esoteric practices. I have always been a seeker.
What would this stranger tell me about my hands, my life path, my strengths to double down on and my weaknesses to put some effort into?!
What was supposed to be an hour, spilled over with ease. The map of your hands is not fixed; it evolves as you do, shaped by the choices you make along the way.
I was armed with my questions about a fork in the road of my career and I wanted to hear what this unbiased exchange might offer me to contemplate. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I entered the experience with openness and strong discernment. There were no red flags during our time together — quite the opposite. That’s where our relationship began.
As someone who doesn’t have a close relationship with her parents I have always actively sought out mentors, teachers and elders who could help me find my way and teach me things that could improve the course of my life. With so much grace I have been fortunate to have 3 esoteric mentors in my life (the first two have passed on and I still send them my love and appreciation for what they helped to impart ✨ in me). I started working with Casandra quarterly and in 2020 I moved that up to monthly as there was many moving parts and our sessions were at minimum inspiring and therapeutic, but nothing short of magical.
I have always identified as a teacher, but every teacher must have a mentor. Every healer also needs to be held in their personal healing.
“As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” Just as two pieces of metal refine one another through contact, we are meant to support each other’s growth in wisdom, character, and faith. This perfectly reflects my personal experience with Casandra. The quote reminds us that sharpening often involves friction -moments of challenge and constructive feedback that gently wear away rough edges and help us become stronger, more refined versions of ourselves. It also speaks to the importance of connection: isolation leads to stagnation, while close, honest relationships; true “iron” relationships elevate us and keep us from growing dull. This kind of sharpening happens through meaningful conversation, shared insight, and steady encouragement, especially during difficult seasons.
To be clear she’s not here to prove her gift, she is here to question your questions and help you access the intrinsic path of your highest manifestation of self.
